Self indulgent and none too easy to impart. Thank you Mr Burns for clarifying things.

A couple a days afore the solstice and I spent an evening in thought and solace. Oh where will my heart take me next, mulling these thoughts I wondered and vexed and the eve she carried me ‘twixt the light and soon it was quite dark so I jumped towards the moon.

After Robert BurnsI spilled my only can of beer making this photo. It was ok though I survived long enough to see the sun set over Sussex once agin.

A self portrait taken on timer. Blurred motion of me jumping (almost leaving the ground). I took several of these before settling for this photo. Being bang in front of the setting sun made it for me. The sun was blowing out as it was streaming right into the lens, so with this photo I still managed to get the absolutely gorgeous colours in the sky without having the blown out sun. Not much was happening above the thin layer of clouds which meant a lot of empty sky space, which was just asking for some Robert Burns words to fill the space.

A lot of photos have text slapped over them, magazines, posters, books etc. So having a photo with space is no bad thing if it is heading for the graphic designers table. Make the most of what you have, try and think laterally if it’s not coming together and generally you’ll come home with a photograph from most excursions.
